Design inspiration

The design was heavily influenced by the client’s fond memories of traveling through southern Spain, particularly the Pueblo Blancos—the iconic white villages of Spain. Drawing inspiration from these European modern designs, the aim was to create a Mediterranean-inspired twist on Toronto’s contemporary architectural style. To avoid the harshness often seen in modern homes across the city, the design embraced warmth and softness.

The result

One of the standout features of Casa Marbella is the porcelain panel cladding, imported from Spain. These panels were selected to replicate the look of whitewashed limestone stucco found in southern Europe but offer the added benefits of durability, stain resistance, and washability—ideal for the Canadian climate. The entire home was intentionally designed without the use of black accents, breaking away from traditional modern trends for a more distinctive and inviting feel.
